Practice Sessions
There's no special clothing required for practice sessions. Note however that open-toed shoes (and bare feet) are not permitted. Baggy clothing on your upper body should be avoided, as it will interfere with the bowstring. Also, archery is an old-fashioned sport, so please dress for the range, not for the beach or the night-club.
Tournaments
All major tournaments require (and most minor tournaments request) you to wear uniform. You may wear “Whites”, essentially any white top and trousers. However, we'd rather see you dressed in our snazzy club sports-fabric T-shirt, with our club logo proudly emblazoned on it.
The T-shirt can be ordered from The Uniform Center in Palmerston North. The address is 57 Bourke St, off Walding Street. It's not far from “On Target” archery shop in fact. Go and see them and choose your size. Shirts take about a week to be made up, and cost around $45.= Add black trousers or track pants to complete your ensemble.
Under no circumstances may you wear red clothing during a tournament. Red is reserved for judges.
Inclement Weather
Outdoor tournaments can turn cold. If the weather looks dodgy, a layer of polyprop underwear is a great idea to bring with you. If things turn real nasty, the judges will declare “Inclement Weather”, in which case you may wear whatever you like. As long as it's not red.
