Ryan & Fraser Shields

The Ryan Shield & Fraser Shield shoots are the two major single all-club teams events organized by Archery New Zealand each year. The Ryan Shield is for recurve, and the Fraser Shield for compound bows. Teams consist of four shooters - one woman and three men, or one junior and three men.

The round shot is a Short Ohio. 96 arrows are shot at 46 metres. Target face is 1.22 for recurve, 80cm for compound. Scoring is five-zone (9, 7, 5, 3, 1 points for gold, red, blue, black, white). Archery New Zealand specifies six different weekends towards the end of the year over which the round may be shot. Each club may choose which day to shoot their round. Scores are recorded and sent to ANZ, with the results being announced at the National Target Champs.
